Hopie's Website - More Revisions!

We're kicking off the new year with a bang. We've revised Hopie's website design concept per her comments.

I do love bright colors, but in a Grace Jones, Kanye West, MIA way. Bursts of neon colors, grounded by whites and blacks, jagged or rough looking, artsy. Too many bright colors or some color combinations might come out more Nick Minaj or FAO Schwartz. I like bright colors, but not too bubble gummy/toy store-like.

Inspiration from her color scheme hails from music videos similar to Rihanna's "Rude Boy" and "Only Girl (In The World)", along with Miami Horror's "I Look To You". Read more »

Hopie Spitshard - Website Redesign

Way back in 2008, Klucid designed and developed Hopie Spitshard's original website (built on Drupal 5). Three albums and nearly four years later, Hopie has grown immensely as an artist, thus requiring a website overhaul. Not only are we redesigning the front end to match her new image and musical style, we are also upgrading her Drupal installation so that it is up to par for the new year.

Check out the initial concept for the new design above. Stay tuned as we share the design process with our readers and publish each step of designing a website from scratch - no templates! Follow along as we interpret comments and suggestions from Hopie into the new design.

Here are some concepts for the Banksy app splash screen (coming soon).

Bed Mounted Monitor Concept

What do you think about headboard mounted LCD? It has got to be the most ergonomic way to work. Imagine laying flat on your back eliminating the urge to hunch over a monitor. It could bring staring at the ceiling to a whole new level. Better yet, think about what this would do for a paraplegic watching TV.

Wireframing with pen and paper is still faster and more creative. If your web designer is skipping this phase, find a new designer.

Ojalá Film

We are proud to present Klucid's first project in the film industry. While this is simply an early concept of the synopsis page, we thought we'd share the current state of the design which boasts bold contrast and strong photography. We are eager to work with more websites in the film industry as we feel film websites are some of the most creative designs on the web. Read more »

MVPFinance Web Design Concept

Here is a rejected concept for MVPFinance.com's website. Unfortunately, the client decided to go with another concept, but this is my favorite of the three concepts so I decided to share.

Go Bigg Music Group - Web Design Concept

Here's a concept for the new Go Bigg Music Group website. The company requested a grunge-slash-urban look and feel. Actually, one member of the team asked about an exact clone of the 6Fingers site, which I designed earlier this year. Read more »

Mayfield Companies Web Design Concept

An early concept of the Mayfield Companies website design.

Logo Concept - Tiny Shu Box

Here is a rejected concept design for a shoe brand called Tiny Shu Box. While the brand was originally to be inspired by the Tokidoki movement, the client has decided to go in different direction for the brand.

The concept started out as a pair of shoes (flats) emerging from a "tiny shoe box" and forming a heart.

Real Estate Website Design Concept #2

Here is my favorite concept of the three that I produced for a real estate website.

Andrew's Field Brochure Design

Following through with the original concept of the grass background, I've laid out the exterior portion of the brochure and finalized the cover. At this point we're very excited to get the final brochure printed and handed out to the public.

Andrew's Field Brochure Design - Inner Layout

Here is an almost finalized layout for the interior of the brochure design.

I've carried over the grass background to the interior after the client asked for more "color". The original concept that I sent to him had a splash of solid colors, but I figured he wanted texture and depth rather than color. It turns out I was right... He loved it. Final stage includes more photos and some updated verbiage.

The exterior layout should be completed early this week, then it's onto the website design (andrewsfield.org).
