Hopie Spitshard Record Release Poster

Spitshard may very well be the female to shatter the stereotypes about females in rap. Unlike other women prepackaged for the rap audience, she has full creative control over her "sound" and "image"- basically, she's not gonna hoe it up to compensate for her gender. It's about time the hip hop generation get more credit...

Klucid was commissioned to design a poster for Ms. Hopie Spitshard. Hopie's marketing manager approached me with nothing more than, "purple is her color... Use it." With that said, the worlds of hip-hop and graphic design collided.

I decided to go with a three color poster for a unique and artistic look, and an edgy and urban feel. A collage using the album cover and photo shoot image was created after flattening to 2 colors. This gave it a hand-painted style... The Fonts also reflect the said "painted" style.
